Barix is up by the Oxford Valley mall, a lot of folks on this forum had their surgery there, they have a very good support group. I also had my surgery via Temple. My hubby had his surgery in 2006 @ Temple, I had my surgery in 2009 @ Jeanes. Loved the care I received via the Temple team they are tops. Who is doing your surgery, Dr. Mielien (sp), know I spelled that incorrectly.
When will you have your surgery next month, this time will fly by.

I would be interested. Have surgery schedule 2/26 at Temple but will not be able to attend their support group. Was planning to travel to Abington as well.

Barix is located in Langhorne, PA. You will see postings for the different support groups that meet there. Groups are the 1st Saturday of the month (11 to 1:30), 2nd Tuesday of the month for pre-ops and the 3rd Wed. of the month (7 to 8:30). You do not have to be a Barix patient in order to participate in the support groups. I have been attending for almost 4 years and have found the support to be invaluable. Feel free to ask more questions if you wish. The next group will be the 1st Saturday in February. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. Take care.

I am schedule for RNY at Temple with Dr. Meilahn on 2/26. Wondering if anyone else has used him and your thoughts?
I also had a 2nd opinion yesterday at Abington Bariatrics with Dr. G who said he could fit me in too.

What is Barix support groups? I will be having surgery at Temple next month. Wondering where everyone from this area had their surgery.

Thank you so much for your reply. I thank you for taking the time to answer me. I have heard good things about Dr. Lam too.....from others at Barix....that is why I went with him. I'm sorry your husband ran into problems with Skalicky....that is just wrong!!

Good afternoon Ida and PA!
I also have a long weekend, but it will be a busy one! This morning I straightened, swept, vacuumed, put away clean laundry and started dirty laundry. WHEW!! This evening Steven and I are going to dinner with some great friends while Dee sleeps over at her aunt's house. Tomorrow I am going to meet my friend in Baltimore. This is the one that I haven't spoken to in about three years and she is getting married in March. I will hopefully get to meet her fiance as well. We got back in contact while my mom was very ill through a friend of mine who thought she should know what was going on with my mom. She and I grew up together and my mom was like her second mom. I am hoping that this is a positive thing that comes out of my mom's passing. Still miss her and I keep on thinking she is still here....
I am also beginning to feel better, not 100%, but definitely better from my accident. I am slowly getting used to my new car and LOVE the better fuel economy!!!
